SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary men’s soccer team fought to a scoreless tie with Texas Lutheran University on Friday afternoon. The decision moved the Gents to 3-1-1, 0-1-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action while TLU is 3-1-2, 1-0-1 in the conference.

The double overtime outing is the first for the Maroon and White since a 2-1 victory over Millsaps in Sept. 16, 2012.

Centenary attempted six shots including a pair being placed on goal. Ivann Amaya took a team-leading three shots in the contest including both on target. Jake Morrison, Jason Aiken and Hunter Paul each attempted a shot in the match.

Rylan Whan stood the entire 110 minutes in net for the Maroon and White. Whan recorded seven saves in the outing after facing 25 Bulldog shots. The seven saves ties a season-high for the sophomore who registered seven saves against Howard Payne on Sept. 6.

David Ching led TLU with six shots followed by Isaac Lopez with four shots. Jonathan Michael tallied two saves in goal for the Black and Gold.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 21 at Schreiner University. Kick is slated for 1 p.m.
