IRVING, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team opened Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a pair of straight set losses on the campus of the University of Dallas on Saturday.

The Ladies (2-10, 0-2) fell 25-11, 25-17, 25-17 in the opener against Austin College and closed out the opening day with a 25-7, 25-14, 25-10 decision against the host Crusaders.

Rachel Perkins led the squad with 13 kills and 17 assists over the two matches. Perkins posted a team-best nine kills in the match against the Roos and tied Allison Lazewski with 11 assists in the opener. Lazewski finished with 18 assists on the day.

Jayde Monnette added nine digs against AC and led the team with 12 over the two matches. Desiree Frey paced the squad with seven kills in the second match of the day.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 21 as the Ladies close out the SCAC Divisional against Colorado College. Match time is slated for 11 a.m.
