COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Centenary volleyball team fell in straight sets to the University of Dallas in the opening contest of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Divisional. The Ladies move to 2-16, 0-8 in the conference while UD improves to 16-8, 5-3.

Lindsey Long led the Maroon and White’s offensive attack with six kills. Allison Lazewski and Rachel Perkins each added double figure assists. Lazewski dished out 12 with 11 coming from Perkins in the contest.  Desiree Frey guided the defensive effort with 12 digs.

Emily Caples led the Crusaders with 14 kills with C.J. Broadbent recording 29 assists in the win. Jessie Koster garnered 11 digs in the defensive effort for the Blue and White.

After falling behind in the opening sets 25-13, 25-11, Centenary rallied back in the third set including holding a four-point advantage midway through the set. However, UD battled back to take a 22-21 lead. Back-to-back points pushed Centenary back in front 23-22, but UD rattled off five of the last six points to claim the match decision.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 as they face Colorado College at 1:30 p.m. central followed by a 4 p.m. outing against Austin College.
