SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s soccer team fell 9-1 to No. 3 Trinity on Friday evening. The Ladies move to 1-12 on the season and 0-7 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action while the Tigers move to 13-0-1 and 7-0 in the conference.

After trailing 2-0 after the first 45 minutes of play, Centenary nipped the TU lead in half in the 53’ as Riley Spudic connected on a free kick. The score marks the first of the season for the freshman and ties her for the team lead.

The Tigers, however, responded with seven unanswered scores led by hat tricks from Emily Jorgens and Abby Tisdale. Jorgens notched scores in the 55’, 65’ and 71’ with Tisdale’s trio of scores coming the 72’, 74’ and 80’ of the contest. Hannah Hommel added the final score for TU in the 90’.

Erica Coker (1-9) took the loss in goal for the Ladies allowing four goals along with seven saves in just over 61 minutes of action. Lauren Cullen logged 28:22 minutes in goal with five goals allowed along with a pair of saves.

Janie Thompson took the win in goal for the nationally-ranked Tigers without a save in 45 minutes of action while Dana McLaughlin allowed the lone Centenary goal in the final stanza.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 12 as they host Southwestern. Kick is slated for 2 p.m.
