SHREVEPORT, La. – A Mackenzie Millican goal in the 23’ provided the difference as the Centenary women’s soccer team fell 1-0 to Southwestern University on Sunday afternoon. The Ladies moved to 1-13 overall and 0-8 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference while SU improved to 5-8-1 and 5-2 in the conference.

The Maroon and White attempted seven shots in the outing led by four from Madison Alexander. Riley Spudic, Carly Slovenksy and Chelsea Russell each logged an attempt. The seven shots is the most taken by the Ladies in conference play this season.

Erica Coker (1-10) received the decision in goal for the Ladies recording two saves against 16 SU shots, including just three on target.

Katherine Rodgers (5-6-1) earned the win for the Black and Gold turning away three shots in the effort.

Ana Gutierrez and Millican led Southwestern with three attempts each.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 17 as they travel to the University of Dallas. Match is slated for 4 p.m.
