SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s soccer team allowed two goals in the final 45 minutes to fall 2-1 to Schreiner University on Sunday afternoon. The loss moves the Gents to 4-11-3 and 1-9-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. SU improves to 7-7 and 5-7 in the league.

Leading 1-0 after the first 45 minutes, the Maroon and White surrendered scores to Justin Edwards and Dakota Pebworth in the 47’ and 61’ respectively to stumble against the Moutaineers. Rene Pena set up both scores for SU in the effort.

Centenary’s lone goal came in the 7’ as Michael Pullano scored on a throw-in to give the Gents the early advantage. The score marks the first of the season for the Bedford, Texas, junior.

The Maroon and White attempted 15 shots in the affair – marking the third most attempts this season and the most in SCAC action for the Gents. Zach Kidder, Jeremy Klespis and Jason Aiken led the team with three shots each.

Rylan Whan (3-7-2) received the loss in net despite recording eight saves in the effort as SU attempted 19 shots in the contest with 10 coming on target.

Blake Lawson (4-6) took the win in goal for the Mountaineers with six saves against seven shots on goal.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1 as they host Colorado College. Kick is slated for 7 p.m.
