SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary swim teams logged victories over Austin College to close out the regular season on Saturday. The Ladies posted a 111-69 win while the Gents claimed an 80-77 decision.

In their final home meet, seniors Chelsea Russell, Christy Wolterman and Kayla Thornhill logged event wins to guide the Ladies. Thornhill recorded a time of 2:05.66 in the 200-yard freestyle and followed with a 1:17.27 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Russell garnered wins in the 200 individual medley (2:20.63) and 100 butterfly (1:02.72). Wolterman’s victory came in the 500 free (5:49.33). Wolterman also finished second in the 200 free with a time of 2:09.38. Alexandria Taylor started things off for the Ladies with a time of 11:49.84 in the 1,000 freestyle. Taylor also finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:53.25.

Jane Barney claimed the title in the 100 free with a time of 1:00.55 followed by Caitlyn Faulhaber in second with a time of 1:01.52. Faulhaber added a second place finish in the 50 free with a time of 25.43. Barney finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:07.69. Chloe Snow added a pair of second place finishes in the 200 IM (2:49.99) and 100 backstroke (1:12.39)

On the men’s side, Arash Ataei and Juan Tapia finished first and second respectively in the 200 freestyle. Ataei posted a time of 1:48.59 while Tapia added a time of 1:50.60. Zach Harrison finished first in the 50 free with a time of 22:59 with Mason Kay in third with a time of 23.28. Beau Montgomery added the third individual win for the Gents with a time of 2:01.99 in the 200 IM with Tapia in second with a time of 2:05.69.

Roberto Roig-Perez claimed the 100 butterfly with a time of 55:91 with Anthony McDonald in third with a time of 57.77.

Centenary returns to action on Feb. 11 at the SCAC Championships.
