Six Ladies qualify for USA Gymnastics National Championships

SHREVEPORT, La. – Six Centenary gymnasts received bids to the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships to be held at the University of Pennsylvania April 10-12.

"I am excited for these six athletes, who have worked so hard this season to have the opportunity to represent Centenary one more time,” said head coach Jackie Fain. “Each of these Ladies is deserving of this honor to compete at the national championships and we are looking forward to the experience."

Allison Scates and Ashley White will represent the Ladies in all-around. White, who also qualified as an alternate for NCAA Regionals at Ohio State on April 4, posted a career-high score of 39.025 in all-around and claimed five all-around crowns in her freshman season. Scates posted a season-high score of 38.650 to qualify for nationals.

Sylvia Keiter and Kellie Slater qualified for three events at nationals. Keiter qualified on bars (9.725), beam (9.80) and floor exercise (9.825) while Slater will represent the Maroon and White on vault (9.725), beam (9.80) and floor (9.850).

Noel Stubbs qualified for vault with a career-high 9.850 and bars with a 9.775. Megan Desjardins rounds out the Ladies as she posted a 9.750 on beam to represent Centenary at Penn.

Last year, seven Ladies qualified for USAG Nationals with Robyn Price finishing 14th nationally on bars while earning all-American honors along with Stephanie Strickler.
