SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Centenary softball team dropped a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader as the Ladies fell 8-0 and 9-4 at Trinity University on Friday evening.

The two squads will square off in a doubleheader tomorrow in a rescheduled time of 11 a.m.

Morgan Daigle and Lizzie Moran paced the team with a .667 batting average in the twinbill while Emily Sexton batted .500. The trio accounted for nine of the Ladies’ 12 hits on the evening.

Laura Perilloux and Haley Miller took the losses in the circle. Perilloux tossed 1.2 frames as she allowed six runs on five hits with a walk. Miller pitched 3.2 innings with six runs – three earned – on six hits with three strikeouts.

The Maroon and White held a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the fourth, behind RBI hits from Moran, Sexton and Anna Dunn., but the Tigers added a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to take a one-run lead.

Centenary kept the contest to within a run until Trinity added four runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend its lead and gather the five-run victory and clinch the twinbill sweep.

In the opener, the Tigers exploded with a six-run, second inning en route to the six frame victory. Centenary was held to just four hits in the affair with three coming off the bat of Daigle. Dunn added the lone remaining hit in the contest.
