JACKSON, MS – The Centenary women’s soccer team (1-4) found themselves out shot 15-7, including 8-1 in shots on target, but Millsaps (1-3-1) early goal held up as the Ladies fell 1-0 on Sunday afternoon, September 13.

With the Maroon and White trailing 1-0 with 10 minutes left to go in the game, junior Marissa Hughes struck a shot that was knocked away by the Millsaps keeper that led to a Centenary corner. However, Millsaps cleared the ball and the Ladies could not score the equalizer.

Millsaps lone goal came in the 17th minute, when Maria Welch found Ellie Dennis for the header.

The Ladies return to the pitch Friday, September 13, against Texas Lutheran at Mayo Field. Kick off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
