I’m senior Noel Stubbs, here with our first gym talk of the year! We have been in school for a month now, and we are excited and ready for practice to begin Thursday.

We are so excited for this upcoming season with seven first-year gymnasts. They all bring their own unique personalities to our team, and they will also be big contributors on the competition floor once season rolls around. Adding their talent to our experienced upper class is going to make us a team to contend with!

So far in the gym, we are looking good and working hard to reach our goals. This coming Sunday is landmark day! Landmark day is where we have goals set on each event. It shows us where we should be in regards to being ready with our competition routines. Our landmarks are to have full routines on bars and beam with base dismounts.

This week we are happy to announce we are starting practice! We have our fall break Thursday and Friday and we are going to take advantage of a couple days off school. On the weekend, we are going to have our team retreat, where we will be able to spend some quality time with our team setting our team goals and core covenants for the year.

Each of us as team members have been working hard on our strength and conditioning since arriving back on campus. Our landmark this season for our cardio over the summer was to be able to run an 8-minute mile when we got back to school. We are doing conditioning at the Fitness Center as well and are becoming stronger and faster.

Outside of the gym, we have had some weekends where we can do some fun team activities. Two weeks ago, we all got together to go support our Centenary soccer team. During the month of September, we had a team dinner to celebrate four birthdays! I would like to say Happy Belated Birthday to Elizabeth, Aspen, Navia and myself:) We also have another birthday shout out this week as junior Allison Scates turns 21!

Can’t wait to continue sharing our success with all of our fans! I am Noel Stubbs, and thank you for reading! Go Ladies:)
