SHREVEPORT, La. - The Ladies played their first home game in nearly a month as Centenary (4-20) fell to UT Tyler (14-7) 25-13, 25-11, 25-12 on Wednesday night (October 14).

The Patriots used a balanced attack to beat Centenary, leading in kills 39-19 and .300- negative .034 hitting percentage. UT Tyler, on the serve of Rebecca Floyd, scored the first seven points of the first set. Floyd finished the match with 16 assists, 10 digs and four aces.

However, after dropping the first two sets, Centenary fought back early in the third. Trailing 2-1, freshman Michaela Brantley etched a kill and freshman Amanda Farr tallied the lone Maroon and White ace of the match. Both teams hit an error before UT Tyler scored 4-of-5 to take a 7-5 lead. After an error put the Patriots up two, Courtney Criswell scored eight straight on her serve. The run included two aces, a pair of kills from Brieanna Brown and a kill of her own.

Criswell finished with a match-best 10 kills.

Freshman Hailey Lawson finished the match with 10 digs, the fourth time in five matches she reached double-digit digs. Lawson has reached 10+ digs in 16 matches on the year.
