Ladies Sweep Vault, Drops Rematch to Air Force

C OLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Centenary gymnastics team were able to capture the top three places on vault, but it was not enough as the Ladies fell to Air Force 191.875-187.900 Saturday afternoon, February 6, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Air Force used its depth to win on vault, 47.775-47.550, but the Maroon and White countered by taking the top three places. Senior Noel Stubbs easily registered a season best on the apparatus, receiving a 9.700. Sophomore all-around gymnast Ashley White took runner-up honors with a 9.675. Senior Kelly Slater tied with Air Force’s Mariana Murphy to finish third on vault with a 9.625.

Beam was even closer, with the home team edging out the Ladies 48.000-47.875. Freshman Navia Jordan and Stubbs finished third and fourth with a 9.675 and 9.625, respectively.

White, who took second in the all-around with a 37.875, finished second on floor with a 9.725.

The Ladies are back in action Monday, February 8, against UIC in the Gold Dome at 1 p.m.
