Gents Golf Finishes Eighth at Tyler JC Spring Invitational

BULLARD, Texas – The Centenary College men’s golf team kicked off the spring season by finishing eighth of 10 teams at the Tyler Junior College Spring Invitational, hosted by Tyler JC at the par 72 Oak Hurst Golf Club Monday and Tuesday, February 29-March 1.

The hosts, Tyler JC, won the tournament by 10 strokes (574, -2). Centenary finished three strokes ahead of Jacksonville CC and 191 strokes better than Jarvis Christian.

Jesse Hall fired a final-round 77, after a first round 78, to leap nine golfers to finish tied for 19th (+11, 155). Graham Maxwell carded a 166 (+22) to finish tied for 43rd, while Christopher Cates finished tied for 46th with a two-day total of 168 (+24).

Rounding out the field for the Gents, Ole Edvard Granrud  and Henry Llorence, who finished 51st and 52nd, respectively, with a 172 (+28) and 174 (+30).

Hall, Maxwell and Llorence all improved their scores on day two from Monday’s round.

The Gents return to action next week at the New Orleans Spring Invite in Slidell, Louisiana.
