CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -  Centenary Senior women’s golfer Jamie Wright was named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Women’s Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars list for the 2015-2016 school year, announced Tuesday, July 5.

This is the second-straight year Wright has received this honor.

"This is Jamie's second All-American Scholar award, and to be honest, it's not a suprise to anyone!" said head coach Emlyn Aubrey. "Jamie graduated this past spring with two majors, a minor, and better than a 3.8 GPA. What more can you say? This Lady is so together, I can't wait to see what her future holds."

To qualify for the All-American Scholar Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or greater. She was one of only seven athletes from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honored.

Wright graduated in spring 2016 with a 3.84 as a double major in political science and history and a minor in religious studies. A two-time All-Conference golfer, Wright finished 12th with a 20-over par 164 at the 2016 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. A four-time Academic All-Conference honoree, she received the SCAC “Character and Community” award in the spring of 2016.

Founded in 1983, the WGCA is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members, and the student-athletes they represent.
