Ladies Golf Sits 10th after Round 1 at BSC Southern Shootout

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Centenary Ladies golf team opened up the 2016-17 season with the first round of the Birmingham-Southern College Southern Shootout at the par-70 Highland Park Golf Course on Sunday, Sept. 11. The Maroon and White shot a 338 (+58) as a team and sits in 10th.

Berry College leads the way, finishing the day with a 302 (+22).

Individually, sophomore Jessica Varner leads the Ladies, carding a round of 78 (+8) and sitting in 12th, just four strokes from the top-5 in the tournament.

Both sophomore Taylor Adair and freshman Erin Rostro fired a +13 (83) to sit tied for 38th. Freshman Erin Bastien completed her first collegiate round with a 94 (+24), while junior Toni Collaro shot a 109 (+39) and ranks 79th.

The Ladies golf team finishes the season’s opening tournament Monday, Sept. 12, with tee times set for 8 a.m.
