Ladies Golf Finishes 10th in Season-Opening Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Centenary Ladies golf team wrapped up the season-opening tournament by finishing 10th of 15 teams, firing a 340 (+60) on the final day and finishing with a 678 (+118) of the Birmingham-Southern Shootout at the Par-70 Highland Park Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 12.

Berry College shot a 302 (+22) for the second-straight day to win the tournament with a total of 604 (+44). Methodist University finished second, 10 strokes back.

Sophomore Jessica Varner fired the eighth-best round of the afternoon for the Ladies, improving two strokes from her first round. She shot a 76 (+6) on the day and finished tied for ninth with a total of 154 (+14).

Sophomore Taylor Adair improved by three strokes on the second day, carding an 80 (+10) and finished tied for 30th with a total of 163 (+23). Freshman Erin Rostro shot a 91 (+21) and finished with a 174 (+34) to finish tied for 55th.

Freshman Erin Bastien (93, +23) and junior Toni Calloro (120, +50) finished 69th and 82nd with totals of 187 (+47) and 229 (+89), respectively.

Centenary returns to action in two weeks for the Al Jones Memorial, hosted by UT Tyler in Tyler, Texas.
