SHREVEPORT, La. The Ladies and Tigers played scoreless for the first 25 minutes, but a trio of goals to end the first half and four more in the second dropped Centenary (5-4, 2-3 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) to Trinity (8-0, 3-0 SCAC) 7-0 Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25.

Senior goalie Erica Coker grabbed a career-best 18 saves on 23 shots faced and is five stops away from breaking the 21-year old career saves record of 380 held by Martha Chaney (1992-95). Her 18 stops is also the fourth-most saves between the pipes for a single game in Maroon and White history.

Among Coker’s saves include a stop of a Trinity penalty kick in the 27th minute off the foot of Hannah Hommel. Hannah Booher scored on another penalty kick in the 70th minute and assisted on the final goal of the game.

Trinity outshot the Ladies 43-1, including 29-1 in shots on goal. The Tigers scored the first goal of the game when an off-target shot was deflected into the goal by Meredith Licata in the 26th minute. Ten minutes later, Julia Kelly scored off of a corner for Trinity.

The Tigers Julia Camp added a pair of goals and an assist.

Janie Thompson (2-0) picked up the win in goal for Trinity, grabbing the only shot faced on an attempt from Centenary freshman Olivia Jackson.

Centenary returns to action Friday night against Texas A&M Texarkana. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
