KERRVILLE, Texas – The Ladies cut the deficit in half with a score in the second period, but the Mountaineers added a late insurance score as Centenary (5-8, 2-7 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell to Schreiner (7-4-3, 5-2-1 SCAC) 3-1 Friday afternoon, Oct. 14, in Kerrville, Texas.

After the Ladies allowed a pair of first half goals, senior Marissa Hughes found the back of the net for her third goal of the season on a pass from freshman Betzabet Bravo in the 61st minute. The Maroon and White outshot Schreiner 4-2 in the final 29 minutes, including 2-1 in shots on goal. However, the one on target by Schreiner found the back of the net off the foot of Ruth Blackburn in the 88th minute for the final 3-1 score.

Centenary senior goalkeeper Erica Coker (4-6) faced four shots, making one save. Her counterpart, Jordin Toso (6-4-3), stopped four shots. Schreiner outshot Centenary 10-9, but the Ladies held a 5-4 edge in shots on target.

After a scoreless first 21 minutes, Chloe Luna put the Mountaineers on the scoreboard in the 22nd minute. She later assisted Kayla McConnell in the 35th minute as Schreiner led 2-0 at intermission.
