Gents Golf Finishes 13th at Linda Lowery Invite

AUSTIN, Texas – The Centenary Gents golf team kicked off the 2017 spring season by finishing 13th at the Linda Lowery Invite with a two-round score of 674 (+106) at the 6,506-yard Par-71 Red River Place Country Club in Austin Texas Monday and Tuesday, February 27-28.

The Gents shot a 338 (+54) on day two, 17 strokes better than Hendrix, to knock off the Warriors. Host Concordia won the tournament with a two-day total of 584 (+16). Seger Howell won the individual title for Concordia with a 137 total (-5).

Leading the way for the Maroon and White was freshman Brodey Warner, who shot an 80 both days to finish the tournament tied for 36th with a +18. Sophomore Ole Edvard Granrud finished tied for 54th, shooting Centenary’s low round of the second day with a 79 (+8). He finished +23 (165).

Taylor Wells, in his first tournament as a Gent, fired a two-round total of 168 (+26) to finish tied for 60th.

Freshman Reed Balcerowicz shot 182 (+40) to finish 75th, while freshman Cole Lanier turned in a 193 (+51) to finish 78th.

The Gents golf team returns to action Monday-Tuesday, March 13-14, at the LeTourneau Yellowjacket Invitational at the Pinecrest Invitational in Longview, Texas.
