SHREVEPORT, La. – The Gents scored a pair off first half goals off rebounds and tallied the equalizer in the second, but the Tigers scored a trio in the first half and the game-winner in overtime as Centenary (2-11-2, 1-9-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell to Colorado College (8-3-3, 6-2-2 SCAC) 4-3 Sunday afternoon, October 15.

For the pair of goals for the home team in the first, the Gents made a living on drawing the Colorado College goalie and finishing off rebounds. The first came in the 18th minute. Sophomore Alejandro Barboza’s first shot was saved when Theo Hooker knocked the shot away, but Barboza corralled the rebound and scored his first collegiate goal to tie the game.

After Colorado College answered with a pair of goals, Centenary cut the deficit right before half. In the 42nd minute, sophomore Nic Douthit served a ball in to junior Braylen Hollins on the left side of the Box. Hollins struck the ball that was saved by Hooker, but Hollins chipped in the rebound for the goal.

Hollins and Barboza both led Centenary with a pair of shots that were on target.

Centenary scored the equalizer in the 57th minute, when sophomore Gabe Rodriguez put a through ball in that junior Nick Hammond finished for his second goal of the season.

Colorado College netted the game-winner in the 98th minute on a free kick was served into the box by Cam Stepforth and finished by Aidan Longhurst. Keenan Amer scored the first goal of the game in the fourth minute and added an assist on the goal in the 30th minute.

Centenary goalie Lamarr Meza allowed four goals on eight shots against, while his counterpart Hooker stopped three shots on six shots faced. While the Tigers led in total shots by 10 (22-12), Colorado College held a slim 8-6 advantage in shots in target.

Joel Frykholm, who led Colorado College with four shots and three on target, scored the second goal of the game for the Tigers in the 20th minute.

Centenary returns to action Friday when it battles nationally-ranked Trinity in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
