SHREVEPORT—Centenary baseball coach Ed McCann has announced the hiring of Zachary Cazzelle as assistant coach. Cazzelle will oversee the outfield play and serve as hitting instructor.

“We are extremely excited to have Zac join our staff,” said McCann. “He is a proven winner and has gained valuable experience while working with a program with a winning tradition at Oklahoma State.”

Cazzelle played both baseball and basketball at Centenary during the 1996-97 school year. He then transferred to Northern Oklahoma Junior College before moving on to Oklahoma State University. He has worked as a baseball camp instructor and the baseball grounds manager at Oklahoma State since 2000.

Cazzelle was a Big 12 All-Academic selection during his playing days with the Cowboys and graduated in 2002 with a degree in Sociology.
