BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. -- Freshman Bryan Elliott, playing in his first collegiate tournament, shot a 69 on the second day of the Gulf Coast Classic at The Bridges Golf Resort to lead Centenary to a second place finish. The Gents shot a combined score of 596 to land ten strokes back of Tennessee State, the tournament champion.

Elliott, a Shreveport native, posted a 74 on day one and fired a 69 on the final day to finish in third place for the tournament. His round of 69 was the second-best 18-hole score for the entire two-day event. Elliott finished three strokes back of individual champion Robert Dinwiddie of Tennessee State who bested the field with a score of 140.

Three more Gents placed in the top 20 as Brett Kaufman, John Kizer, and Kyle McCotter all tied for 15th with a two-round score of 151 (seven-over-par). Brian Grone shot 79 and 81 to finish in 48th place.

Centenary will look to keep the momentum next week as the Gents head to Birmingham, Ala., to participate in the Buffalo Rock Showdown.
