Shreveport—The Centenary Ladies and Gents cross country teams hosted the Red River Classic at the Clyde Fant Parkway Frisbee Golf Course on Saturday. Both the Ladies and Gents placed third in the contest paced by Esther Seitz and Aaron Hudman respectively.

Seitz jumped out to an early lead in the women’s 5K race and held her advantage over Grambling’s Hamidya Scipio until the last minute. Scipio pushed with a final sprint to earn the individual victory while Seitz cruised easily into second place 13 seconds ahead of the next closest finisher.

The team victory on the women’s side went to Northwestern State as the Lady Demons placed five runners in the top ten. Grambling finished second, Centenary claimed third, and Louisiana Tech garnered fourth.

Grambling swept both individual titles as Feedly Bonneau ran the 8K race in 25:41.03 to take first for the Tigers in the men’s division. Hudman led the Gents, finishing eighth for his first top ten finish of the year.

Northwestern State also took home the men’s team championship with Grambling taking second and Centenary finishing third.
