Ladies Shutout Indians 3-0

Jonesboro, Ark.—The Centenary Ladies soccer team snapped Arkansas State's three-game winning streak and posted their first shutout of the season as the Ladies dropped the Lady Indians 3-0 in non-conference action on Sunday.

Centenary (3-6-1) scored all three of its goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. Melinda Levinski started things off for the Ladies, dribbling through the penalty box and netting the opening goal in the eighth minute.

Ashley Bouillion kept the momentum for Centenary by scoring a goal off a through pass from Rebecca Swilley on the right side in the 12th minute, and Ashley Grannan capped off the Ladies' victory with a goal off a cross pass from Sara Thompson on a free kick in the 17th minute.

Goalkeeper Lindsey Stafford picked up her first shutout of the season, recording five saves in 90 minutes of play.

Both squads had 11 shots apiece. Six of Centenary’s shots were on goal while ASU (4-5-0) had five shots on goal. Jenny Graham and Jen Widener both had three shots for the Lady Indians.
