Oral Roberts Sweeps Centenary Volleyball

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University volleyball team defeated Centenary College 3-0 (30-12, 30-12, 30-16) Saturday evening at ORU’s Cooper Aerobics Center.

For the Golden Eagles, freshman middle blocker Maja Devic recorded the tenth-best hitting percentage performance in NCAA history. Devic collected 16 kills and only one error in 18 attempts en route to a hitting percentage of .833.

Tracee Byrd represented Centenary’s only statistical bright spot as she posted six kills in 12 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage.

ORU scored the last nine points of game one, and reeled off 11 straight at one point during game two. ORU hit .412 as a team on the night, while Centenary hit .035.

ORU evened its record at 10-10 (2-1 Mid-Con), while Centenary dropped to 5-15 (0-3 Mid-Con). Centenary is back in action on Friday, October 10, as the Ladies travel to Kansas City, Mo., to face UMKC.
