Monday, November 3, 2003

Elmhurst, Ill.—The Mid-Continent Conference announced on Monday that Centenary’s Mindi Levinski was selected as its Offensive Player of the Week. Levinski is the third member of the Ladies soccer team to earn the award this season.

Levinski had an outstanding week as she led Centenary to a 1-0-1 record and helped her squad clinch a trip to their first-ever appearance in the Mid-Con Tournament. In a 3-1 win over Mid-Con opponent IUPUI, the junior drove home two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist. Two days later, Levinski went on to score her third goal of the week against Valparaiso to give the Ladies a 1-1 tie with the Crusaders.

Levinski finished the regular season as the Mid-Con leader in assists (10) and total points (26). Her ten assists in 2003 ranks her second all-time at Centenary for most assists in a single season.

The Ladies will begin their run at a conference championship this Friday when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to battle Oral Roberts at 7 p.m.
