Aaron Elrod Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.Aaron Elrod, a junior on the Centenary men’s soccer team, has been named a member of the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Elrod, a native of Little Rock, Ark., has played in 49 of Centenary’s 52 matches in his career. Heading into the season finale at UMKC on Saturday, he has started in the Gent defense in 45 consecutive matches. He has anchored a defense that has seven shutouts over his three-year career.

He has also made contributions to the Centenary offense, earning an assist last season against Wiley College and scoring a goal earlier this year at Central Florida. Majoring in English, Elrod has maintained a 3.79 grade point average so far at Centenary.

By being named to the All-District Team, Elrod is now eligible for Academic All-America honors. The CoSIDA Academic All-America Team is voted on by sports information directors throughout the country. District VI is made up of colleges in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
