Shreveport—Centenary swim coach Butch Jordan has announced the early signing of Melanie Zimmerman and Robert Hendricks. Both swimmers have returned their national letters of intent and will begin to participate for the Ladies and Gents in the 2004-05 school year.

Zimmerman hails from Round Rock, Tex., where she attended Round Rock High School. She is expected to help the Ladies program immediately upon her arrival as she has posted a time of 25.6 seconds in the 50 freestyle and 56.3 seconds in the 100 freestyle.

“Melanie will help us tremendously in the sprint and freestyle events,” said Jordan. “She has had a limited background in swimming and I think her best years in the pool are still to come.”

Hendricks currently attends Plano East High School in Plano, Tex. The 6’0”, 160-pound senior will help the Gents in the distance events. He recorded a time of 9:48.00 in the 1000 freestyle.

“I am very excited to get Robert. He comes from a great club program in Plano and has the work ethic to be successful,” said Jordan.
