Ladies Drop Eighth Straight, Fall to Valpo 76-38

Shreveport—The Centenary Ladies basketball team dropped its eighth straight game as they fell at home to Valparaiso, 76-38, on Saturday evening at the Gold Dome. The Ladies set a school record for fewest points in a half as they trailed the Crusaders 30-8 at the intermission.

Valparaiso (12-10, 7-4 Mid-Con) shot 46.2 percent for the contest while converting on 24-of-27 free throw attempts. The Crusaders were led by Betsy Rietema’s 16 points and 12 points from Kathryn Knoester. Tamra Braun finished with a quality effort both in scoring and on the boards, collecting a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Centenary (3-17, 1-8 Mid-Con) did not have a player reach double figures in scoring as Lindsay Way led the Ladies for the second consecutive game as she contributed eight points in the loss.

The Ladies will host Western Illinois to finish out their four-game homestand at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Gold Dome
