Shreveport—The Centenary gymnastics team set two new school records and tied another while recording a season-high 195.375 in a loss to Auburn in the Gold Dome on Sunday afternoon. The 18th ranked Tigers posted a 196.725 to defeat the Ladies.

Freshman Kristina Menne tied the Centenary mark with a 39.225 in the all-around shared by teammate Tara Mitchell. Menne earned a 9.650 on the vault, a 9.950 on the bars, a 9.900 on the beam, and a 9.725 on the floor to collect the lofty total. Her 9.950 on the uneven bars set a new Centenary standard on the event.

The Ladies trailed by only .650 after two rotations, but Auburn pulled away with a 49.600 on the balance beam despite Centenary setting a new record team total on the event with a 49.325. The Tigers were led on the deciding event by Rachael Tarantino’s perfect 10.0 and a 9.950 by Kayce Stein.

Courtney Puckett took home the all-around title for Auburn with a total of 39.350 while also finishing first on the vault and floor exercise. Tarantino nabbed the beam title and Centenary’s Menne claimed first place on the bars.

Centenary will travel to face the #17 Arkansas Lady Razorbacks on Friday, March 5th and the #14 Missouri Tigers the following day in Columbia, Mo. The Ladies will return home to host the #10 LSU Tigers in the Gold Dome on March 12th.
