IUPUI Wins Centenary Ladies Spring Invitational

Shreveport — The IUPUI Jaguars shot a 319 to win the rain-shortened Centenary Ladies Spring Invitational Tuesday at Shreveport Country Club.

In the individual standings, Lisa Westman of McNeese State shot a five-over-par 76 in wet conditions to take the title. Westman finished two strokes ahead of Shawna Fraser of Nicholls State, Berni Rosero of Tyler Junior College, and Emily Hallberg and Ryan Slayback of IUPUI.

IUPUI finished just one stroke ahead of Tyler Junior College to take the team title. Jackson State finished third with a 328, just ahead of Nicholls State (329) and McNeese State (331). Rhodes College finished sixth with a 349, the host Ladies took seventh with a 406, and Chicago State finished in eighth with a team score of 424.

Repsie Schirmer was the best finisher for the Ladies, finishing in 19th place with an 84, her best single-round score at this event. Andrea Sanchez shot a 95 to finish in 31st place, Ashly Neal tied for 32nd place with a 102, and Michelle DeRouen finished in 38th place.

The Ladies travel to Mobile, Ala., next week for a tournament hosted by the University of South Alabama.
