Rhodes Named Mid-Con Softball Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Thanks to her All-Tournament performance at the Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival last weekend, Micah Rhodes has been named the Player of the Week by the Mid-Continent Conference.

Rhodes, a freshman outfielder from Grapevine, Tex., batted .600 (6-for-10) in four games with two doubles, a triple, a home run, three walks, a run scored, and two runs batted in. She notched a 1.300 slugging percentage and a .692 on-base percentage.

Rhodes leads both the team and the conference with a .431 batting average, a .491 on-base percentage, 22 hits, and five doubles. The freshman has also been perfect in the field, making 17 putouts without an error.

In only four weeks, Centenary has won the Player of the Week honor twice and the Pitcher of the Week honor twice. Janis Kelley and Cheyenne Daries swept the conference awards on February 16, with Daries repeating as Pitcher of the Week last week.

Centenary College is the smallest Division I school in the country with just under 900 students. The school is presently in its first year of competition in the Mid-Continent Conference and is eligible for all conference championships and NCAA Tournament automatic bids.
