Centenary Goalkeeper Named Mid-Con Defensive Player of the Week
Wednesday, September 1, 2004

Shreveport—Centenary goalkeeper Lindsey Stafford earned her first accolade of the season, being named Defensive Player of the Week by the Mid-Continent Conference. Her 10 saves in the season opener helped the Ladies (1-0-0) shutout visiting Arkansas State (0-2-0), 3-0.

Stafford is no stranger to the award. She earned the distinction twice in 2003, for the weeks of September 15th and October 13th.

Her 109 saves led the Mid-Con in the 2003 season. Stafford’s mark also ties her for the all-time season-high in Centenary women’s soccer history. Her 1.12 goals against average is tied for fifth all-time in a season.

The Ladies are on the road this weekend at the Grambling Tournament. They face Troy State (0-1-1) on Friday and Nicholls State (0-2-0) on Sunday.
