Richardson Leads Cross Country Squads at ULM

Monroe, La.—The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Pine Hills Twilight Invitational hosted by Louisiana-Monroe on Friday. Junior Holly Richardson proved to be the top performer for Centenary as she finished first in the two mile women's division.

Richardson placed first out of a field of 22 runners comprised of seven Centenary participants and 15 Louisiana-Monroe contestants. Her time of 13:11 gave her the victory in the first meet of the year by more than 17 seconds. Lori Von Pingel finished fourth for the Ladies while Jennifer Bouso (7th), Taylor Robertson (8th), Halley Grantham (12th), Stacy Nelson (13th), and Cecilia Chea (17th) rounded out the Centenary performers.

On the men's side, Ricky Thomas turned in the Gents top time as he placed 13th out of 20 runners with a time of 27:22 over the four mile trek. The rest of the Centenary team filled out the 14 through 20 slots as follows: Steven Deas, Andrew Deas, David Reiland, Brian Williams, Jeff Stotts, Michael Maricelli, and Paul Marrow.

Overall, the Ladies fell to ULM as a team by the score of 25-32. The Gents lost to ULM, 15-45, and dropped their dual meet with Louisiana Tech by a 15-45 total.
