Centenary Runners Compete in SFA Relays
Monday, September 13, 2004

Nacogdoches, Tex.—The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams participated in a unique format hosted by Stephen F. Austin on Monday afternoon. Each team submitted a list of pairs whose times would be combined after the race. The partnership that produced the lowest combined time is declared the winning team.

Centenary's chances for a victory on the women's side took a blow when last race's winner, Holly Richardson, suffered an injury that resulted in her having to withdraw from the competition. The tandem of Taylor Robertson and Lori Von Pingel produced the best finish for the Ladies in 10th place of 15 pairs with a combined time of 33:52.08 over the 8K stretch.

For the Gents in their 12K race, Steven Deas and Ricky Thomas' 48:23.98 effort paced the Centenary men with a 20th place finish out of 23 teams.

The Centenary cross country teams will now host the Red River Classic in Shreveport on Thursday, September 30th beginning at 4:30 pm.
