Valpo Too Much For Volleyball Ladies

Shreveport—The Centenary volleyball team dropped its second Mid-Con match in as many days as Valparaiso defeated the Ladies 3-0 on Saturday evening. The Crusaders hit at a .444 clip as a team and committed only five attack errors in 99 attempts to take the match 30-11, 30-13, 30-19.

Valparaiso (11-3, 2-0 Mid-Con) earned nine blocks and 50 digs in their dominating win at the Athletics-Recreation Center to keep their hold on the conference lead. All 14 players saw time for the Crusaders in the victory, but no single player tallied double-digit kills. Amy Palash and Tiffany Meikle led the way with eight kills while Jessi Novak and Lauren Moulton each added seven put aways respectively.

For Centenary (4-14, 0-2 Mid-Con), Ashley Templer recorded her second consecutive double double as she finished with 11 kills and 10 digs. Catey Batte compiled a team-high 13 digs in the loss.

The Ladies will continue their road trip with a return visit to Prairie View A&M as Centenary will take on the Lady Panthers on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The two teams have already faced off at the Prairie View Tournament where the Ladies emerged with a win.
