Cross Country Teams Run at NSU

—The Centenary men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in the Northwestern State Cross Country Invitational on Monday afternoon. It was a full field of competition as nine teams ran on the men’s side and eight teams battled for the women’s title.

 

The Centenary Ladies finished fifth out of the field of eight with a final score of 141. Louisiana-Lafayette won the meet with 39 points as ULL placed their top five runners all within the first 13 finishers. Lori Von Pingel led the Centenary contingent with a 17th place finish with a time of 25:56.6 for the 6k race. The rest of the Ladies’ top five included Holly Richardson (20th), Jennifer Bouso (30th), Taylor Robertson (36th), and Halley Grantham (37th).

 

The Gents did not fare as well against the tough competition as they finished last in the nine team, 8k race. Louisiana-Lafayette again took the victory with a final score of 36 points, beating Louisiana Tech by half their final team mark of 72. Andrew Deas paced the Gents with his 44th place finish and a time of 31:04.2. Steven Deas (48th), Ricky Thomas (53rd), Brian Williams (55th), and David Reiland (56th) rounded out Centenary’s top five.
