Gents Soccer Earns Second Win Over Panthers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The rain did not stop the Centenary Gents as they continue their come from behind ways to beat the Drury Panthers 3-2 on Thursday night at Hutchens Field.  With the win, the Gents even the all-time series at 5-5-1.


Goalie James Speed was unable to get his hands on Cody Reinberg’s close shot putting the Panthers up by one in the 12th minute.  Three minutes later, senior Jeffrey Krulin took the ball into Panther territory angling a shot ten yards out that found the back of the net tying the game at the 15:01 mark.  Going into the break, the score was deadlocked at one a piece. 


Drury (3-6-1) came out eager in the second half scoring in the 49th minute taking the lead once again.  At the 63:28 mark, freshman Ben Caldarera fought his way through a crowd scoring his fourth goal of the season evening the score.  The game-winning goal came off of an own goal by the Panthers in the 76th minute.


Centenary (2-5-2) returns home to host their third conference match of the season against UMKC (1-7-0) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
