Gents Miles Finishes 6th at SFA Crown Classic

LUFKIN, Tex. – Gents senior Gary “Mackey” Miles finished tied for sixth at the Stephen F. Austin Crown Classic, shooting 220 in individual play over the three-round event.  Miles finished four shots over par, including a team best 69 in the second round.


            The rest of the Centenary squad didn’t fare quite as well, finishing eighth overall with 944.  Ryan Oliver led the team with 233, 17 shots over par, followed closely by Brett Kaufman at +19.  John Kizer and Brian Grone rounded out the Gents scoring with 238 and 242 respectively.  David Viviano shot 244 to conclude Centenary’s participation.


            Host Stephen F. Austin won their event, shooting 871, good enough for seven over par.  Sam Houston State (+23) finished second, followed by McNeese State (+26), Rice (+39), UMKC (+49), Texas-Pan American (+65), Texas State (+66), Centenary (+80), and Southwestern (+97).
