Chicago State Drops Ladies in Three Straight
Saturday, October 16, 2004

CHICAGO, Ill.—The Centenary Ladies volleyball team lost its second consecutive Mid-Continent Conference match in as many days as they fell on the road to Chicago State 30-16, 30-28, 30-23 on Saturday evening.

Centenary (5-20, 0-7 Mid-Con) got off to a slow start in game one, but rallied to make game two a real test for the host Lady Cougars. The Ladies out-hit CSU (8-13, 3-4 Mid-Con) in game two .078 to .058, the only game in which Centenary accomplished the feat. However, the duo of Stacy Cole and Chrissy Davis proved to be too much for the Ladies as they combined for 24 kills in the contest.

Emily Longerot led the Centenary offensive attack with 10 kills in the loss. Lindsay Bekelja recorded another double double with 26 assists and 11 digs while Catey Batte and Ashley Templer notched 11 digs and 10 digs respectively.

The Ladies return home on Thursday, Oct. 21, when they host Prairie View A&M at 5 p.m. in the Gold Dome. The match is the first of a three-game homestand for Centenary.
