Monday, October 18, 2004

ELMHURST, Ill.Jack Goodloe has been named Mid-Con Co-Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two unassisted goals last week, as the Gents polished off Birmingham-Southern 3-0.  His dominating offense boosted the Gents record to 3-5-2, and 0-1-1 in conference.

In the shutout victory over the Panthers, Goodloe got the Gents on the board first by drilling a shot past BSC’s keeper from 40 yards out in the 48th minute.   He used the same long-distance power to launch a ball from 30 yards out into the upper left hand corner to win the Gents first shutout of the season.

The senior midfielder is tied for the team lead in goals for the season with four. Goodloe shares this week’s Mid-Con accolade with Oakland’s junior forward Chris Edwards.

The Gents will take on conference rival Western Illinois this Saturday at 2 p.m. on Mayo field.
