SHREVEPORT – Mindi Levinski set the school record for assists as Centenary defeated McNeese State 3-1 in the Ladies’ final home match of the season.  Graduating upperclassmen scored all three goals in a fitting farewell on ‘Senior Day’ at Mayo Field.

The Ladies jumped to a quick lead in 10th minute as senior Rita Coolidge scored her third goal of the season off a corner kick from Levinski.  The assist was the 27th of her career, breaking the school record previously held by Krista Camplen (1993-1996).  Coolidge played in her 75th consecutive match, placing her tied for second place all-time.

McNeese State stuck with the Ladies for the first half, evening the score at the 34:33 mark.  Amy Osteen scored the tying goal, driving through Centenary’s defense and beating Ladies keeper Lindsey Stafford one-on-one.  Stafford collected four saves in her final home appearance.

Centenary came out in the second frame aggressively, putting the pressure on the Cowgirls defense.  In the opening moments, senior Kylie Garrett barely missed wide left in front of the net, but redeemed herself with a game-winning header off Rebecca Swilley’s pass just minutes later at the 49:25 mark.  The goal was Garrett’s first of the season and the third game-winner of her career.

The Ladies added an insurance goal in the 68th minute, as senior Ashlee Mantooth scored her first goal of the year, beating the McNeese State keeper one-on-one.  Freshman Rachel Alexander earned the assist, pushing the ball through the Cowgirls’ defense to the streaking Mantooth.

Centenary bid thanks and farewell to eight graduating seniors.  Ashley Bouillion, Cooldige, Garrett, Levinski, Mantooth, Jamila Smith, Stafford, and Sara Thompson have been a part of 21 home victories at Mayo Field and have combined for 202 points in four seasons.

The Ladies travel to Rochester, Michigan this weekend to play in their second consecutive Mid-Continent Conference Tournament.  Centenary concluded league play 4-2, earning the second seed in the playoffs.  They face Valparaiso on Friday.
