Ladies Fall to Valpo 1-0 in Mid-Con Tournament
Friday, November 5, 2004

ROCHESTER, Mich. – For the second time in as many years, the Centenary women’s soccer team lost in the first round of the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament.  The Ladies found themselves on the opposite end of a heartbreaking 1-0 match after having defeated the Crusaders by the same score October 1.

Valparaiso outshot the Ladies 7-3, including 6-1 in the first half, but both teams managed only three shots on goal for the entire match.  The Crusaders tallied the only goal of the game as Allison Swanson collected a pass from Kristi Dixon, putting it past keeper Lindsey Stafford in the 27th minute.

The Ladies bid farewell to eight seniors, including all-time assist leader Mindi Levinski and single-season saves record holder Stafford.  Centenary finishes the year 14-5-1 as four players earned All-Mid-Con honors.  Levinski and Stafford, along with Newcomer of the Year Tara Sageser and junior Sam Savage, received First-Team accolades.
