Gents Drop Final Match of the Season 1-0 to IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The Centenary Gents closed their season with a 1-0 loss to IUPUI on Saturday afternoon at Kuntz Stadium.  The extremely aggressive conference match saw 60 fouls whistled, including 33 on Centenary, as a total of five yellow cards were issued.

Centenary’s offense overwhelmed the Jaguars in the first 45 minutes, courtesy of seniors Jack Goodloe and Michael Krulin. The Gents outshot IUPUI 11-3, but were unable to get one in the net before the buzzer. 

Going into the second half, IUPUI’s Matthew Smith weaved through Centenary’s defense scoring the game winner in the 54th minute. The Jaguars collected 12 shots forcing Gents keeper James Speed to make six saves, while IUPUI’s Peter Brasovan tallied fives saves off of Centenary’s 18 shots.

Centenary has lost a series of close matches, this being the fifth loss by a one goal deficit.

The Gents end their 2004 season with a 4-9-2 regular season record and a 0-5-1 conference record.
