Centenary Swimmers Overtaken by TCU

SHREVEPORT – Centenary and Texas Christian squared off for the second time this year on Saturday afternoon at the Centenary Fitness Center. The defending Conference USA champions defeated the Gents 107-87 and the Ladies 88-70.

The 200 medley relay team of Traci Wimberley, Kayli LeBlanc, Lori Von Pingel, and Melanie Zimmerman started the meet for Centenary with a third place finish touching the wall at 1:59.97. The Gents 200 medley relay also finished third with a time of 1:42.16.

Freshmen Roddie Haley and sophomore Robert Trempski contributed heavily to the Gents point total, winning the 100 butterfly and 200 backstroke respectively.

Dustin Myers broke his season-best time in the 200 free swimming a 1:50.85, finishing right behind teammate Matija Fojs for third place.

Freshman Sara Hansen broke yet another Centenary record, touching the wall at 1:02.08 in the 100 fly. She also had an impressive 50 free, finishing in 26.88.

The Centenary Ladies return to the water next weekend, hosting Houston on Friday at 6 p.m.
