SHREVEPORT –Although the Centenary Ladies shaved off time in their respected events, the Houston Cougars surpassed the Ladies 116-50 on Friday night at the Centenary Fitness Center.

The Ladies had no individual winners in any races, but did have several notable swims.

Freshman Melanie Zimmerman finished the 50 free in 26.49 seconds, the second fastest time in Centenary history. Also breaking into Centenary’s top five was freshman Sara Hansen who touched the wall at 59.47 in the 100 free. Her time in the event ranks her fourth in the school’s record books.

Team captain Kayli LeBlanc also had an impressive night finishing third with a season best in the 200 individual medley, fourth in the 100 fly and swam the third leg on the 200 medley relay team that finished in 1:58.59.

Lori Von Pingel glided into the wall at 1:14.28 in the 100 breast, marking her quickest effort of the season to date.

Next up for the Centenary Ladies and Gents is a tri-meet against McMurry and Trinity in Southlake, Tex., on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
