SHREVEPORT – Centenary women’s golf coach Ken Dupree has announced that Tracy Williams has signed her national letter of intent and will join the Ladies for the 2005-06 season.

Williams is a three-sport athlete at Van Alstyne High School in Van Alstyne, Texas.  She has spent four years with the Panther’s varsity golf squad, finishing second in District as a freshman and first as a sophomore.  Williams finished her junior campaign first in both District and Region II while earning a 15th place finish at the 3A State Tournament.

“I’m ecstatic about the future of the Ladies’ golf team with the addition of Tracy Williams,” Coach Dupree said. “ She will be a serious impact player for the women’s golf team in the 2005-06 season.  Her athleticism is what all coaches look for, and our program is lucky enough to have been able to sign a player of Williams’ caliber.”

Williams has also excelled on the hardwood, lettering three years in basketball while earning second team All-District as a point guard her junior year.  She also played volleyball for the Panthers junior varsity squad as a freshman.

Along with her athletic achievements, Williams is also active in other school and church activities.  She has been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for four years and participates in PALS (Peer Assistance & Leadership) as well as serving as a youth volunteer at First Baptist Church.
