ELMHURST, Ill.- Centenary swimmer Lori Von Pingel was selected as the Mid-Continent Conference Co-Swimmer of the Week for her impressive effort last weekend in the Ladies first win of the season. The 104-91 win over McMurry at the Dallas Invitational, solidified the 5’10 swimmer as one of the fastest sprinters in Maroon and White history.

Using her long arms and exceptional leg strength, Von Pingel came out of her last turn in the 100 free at last week’s meet to beat her competition in 56.75. Later in the meet, she racked up another win in the 100 breast by edging out the competition at the wall, clocking in at 3:38.33.

The freshman swimmer has demolished two Centenary records in the 50 free (26.35) and 100 free (56.75) and is an integral part of the Ladies record breaking relay teams.

After their success at last week's Invitational, Centenary travels to Rochester, Michigan to compete in the Mid-Con swimming championships. Von Pingel is sure to solidify her reputation as a top sprint freestylist, swimming in the 200 free, 100 breast, 50 free, 100 free, and anchoring the medley and freestyle relays.
