Wilson Tabbed Mid-Con Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill – Centenary freshman Chris Wilson has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week after helping the Gents clinch the fourth and final bid to the conference baseball tournament.


The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native hit .500 (7-for-14) over the weekend, hitting safely in all four contests against Valparaiso.  Wilson collected three hits and drove in three RBI in the playoff clinching game three.  He also went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the season opener.


Wilson is the fifth Gent to earn Mid-Con Weekly accolades.  Jonathan Colgin and David Kiefer (twice) were previously named Player of the Week, while J.C. Biagi and David McElroy both earned Pitcher of the Week honors.


The Gents next travel to Tulsa, Okla., where the face top seeded Oral Roberts in the first round of the Mid-Con Tournament.  Game time is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday and can be followed live, online, at www.orugoldeneagles.com/stats/bbc/livestats/xlive.htm
